Kids 4 Kids
Jr. Variety, a Southern California charity run by teenagers to help children in need, hosted its annual Kids 4 Kids Carnival last Sunday in Agoura Hills.
Jr. Variety comprises students from 10 Southern California high schools.
The carnival at Willow Elementary School is the organization’s biggest fundraising event of the year. Since it began in 2007, the Kids carnival has raised more than $175,000 to make a difference in children’s lives.
“The Kids 4 Kids Carnival is one of the very special days of the year that family and friends come together to make the world a better place,” said Jeremy Forman, Jr. Variety president. “One hundred percent of the profits from the event benefit Southern California communities and children who are physically challenged, disabled, and/or underprivileged.”
Jr. Variety has supported and donated time and money to nonprofit groups such as Ride- On Therapeutic Horsemanship, Variety Boys & Girls Club, Tuberous Sclerosis Society, Agoura PONY VIP baseball and Hollygrove.
Last year, Jr. Variety cosponsored the Kids’ Camp Harmony’s winter program for homeless youth. Money also has gone towards programs at Willow Elementary School.
This year, the carnival received support from Sumac Elementary School and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Conejo Valley & Las Virgenes.
Jr. Variety, created by an Agoura Hills family, is expanding. Sydney, Australia is launching a teen board this month, while other cities such as Chicago and Milwaukee are looking to do the same. For more information, visit www.JrVarietySoCal.org.
